Digital Account Opening / Originations (DAO) is the first Digital touchpoint many of our customers will have with Chase. The DAO team owns and drives the end-to-end digital origination experience for Chase across all of Chase's lines of business, from consumer to card to lending. Our efforts help further Chase's evolving multi-channel experience: enabling customers to shop, apply, and set up their products and services easily wherever they are and however they choose.

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Strategy leader to join our Risk & Controls team. The mandate of the Risk& Controls team is to:

Translate the goals of the lines-of-business to actionable digital product and ensuring that the end product is compliant with Risk and Compliance regulations.

Work with technology to build x-LOB solutions for DAO products

Work with Risk and Compliance SME's to come up with new solutions to protect customers.

We are seeking an exceptional Strategy leader to join our Risk & Controls team. The mandate of the Risk& Controls team is to:

  • Translate the goals of the lines-of-business to actionable digital product and ensuring that the end product is compliant with Risk and Compliance regulations.

  • Work with technology to build x-LOB solutions for DAO products

  • Work with Risk and Compliance SME's to come up with new solutions to protect customers.

  • Manage business planning and reporting for efficient and effective program delivery

Specifically, the focus of this role will be on ensuring we build platform x-LOB features to protect our customers but also ensuring customer experience is not compromised. The Vice-President of Risk& Controls will be responsible for maintaining our strategic vision, crafting program and platform strategy, setting priorities, and developing performance objectives. In doing so, the candidate will partner deeply with not only DAO leadership and product owners, but also with strategy leads across CCB lines of business.

Key Responsibilities include supporting:

  • Be the expert in relevant market, product, competitive, and consumer insights

  • Be the owner and evangelist of DAO's vision and mission

  • Develop unifying DAO program strategy and supporting platform strategy; strategy must further overall platform growth, as well as promote line-of-business goals and strategies in risk and controls.

  • Align and re-inforce strategy with performance management framework / KPIs and targets

  • Partner with Risk and compliance team to develop and implement structured platform capabilities for DAO

  • Partner with area product owners on technology, innovation, and capabilities strategy

  • Work with lines-of-business and analytics partners to deliver customer learnings and insights

  • Clearly articulate strategy to senior leaders and stakeholders in order to: influence, gain buy-in, and communicate performance

  • Collaborate with Finance on business reporting, as relevant

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience, including time at a management consulting firm or in corporate strategy at a large company

  • Experience in Product role working with Compliance and Risk groups is preferred

  • World-class written and verbal communication skills with experience writing executive-level communications and presentations

  • Strong expertise in business strategy, strategic frameworks, qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Strong inter-personal skill and building relationships is a must.

  • Team player with great interpersonal skills; high EQ is a must

  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and prioritizing skills

  • Excessive attention to detail

  • Minimum Bachelors required

The Vice President/Asset Manager, Equipment Management Group (EMG) will be responsible for estimating the collateral value of machinery and equipment that is financed for J.P. Morgan Equipment Finance (JPM-EF). This position may focus on a wide variety of collateral including but not limited to trucks, trailers, computers/servers/IT, medical equipment, manufacturing (food-processing equipment, plastics, machine tools etc.), rail, aircraft, marine, FFE, and other equipment types. Primary responsibilities include: * Estimating the current and future collateral value of machinery throughout the term of proposed loans and leases. It is not uncommon to complete one to two valuations per day on a preliminary basis. * Provide updated valuations on existing portfolio exposures when requested by the credit department. * Assist when requested in the activities associated with repossessed assets or lease-end activity. Valuations can be needed as due diligence associated with sales, renewals, and early terminations of equipment under lease, including remarketing of off-lease equipment into the secondary market. * One key objective is to support JPM-EF's new business volume objectives and profitability goals by setting competitive residual values based on technical expertise, market knowledge, and solid business judgment. * In certain situations, EMG may choose to engage a third party appraiser to complete a formal appraisal. Historically this may happen on approximately 10% of the valuation requests. Managing the appraisal process is one of EMG's responsibilities. The position requires in-depth knowledge of a variety of low and high tech equipment types including machine tool, manufacturing, printing, plastic and injection molding, over-the-road and off-road tractors and trailers, barges, rail, aircraft, and electronic/semiconductor. Solid knowledge of a variety of direct and vendor-related financing products is required, including operating leases, conditional sales, sale / leasebacks, TRAC's, and synthetic leases. Understanding and familiarity with associated lease / finance documentation is required, as well as a solid understanding of lease pricing, and strong business judgment and risk assessment skills. The candidate will have demonstrated skills in equipment valuation and forecasting, including the review, analysis, and interpretation of technical and market trends, and other developments that affect equipment values. This position requires a high degree of critical thinking to recognize equipment / deal related risks and opportunities, and balance these variables when considering new business. The individual should have hands-on experience with remarketing, including equipment sales, renewals, terminations, and repossessions.
