Job Overview:

LPL is seeking a VP, Events & Meeting Planner to lead the Corporate Events team, which is a part of LPL's Human Capital organization and sits within the Culture & Inclusion department. This role is responsible for leading the team that executes on a wide range of company-wide meetings and events that support our culture and contribute to the employee experience.

Activities include: All-Employee Town Halls, co-wide Milestone/Achievement celebrations, Employee Engagement and Appreciation activities, annual Summer Family Fest event, Investor & Analyst day and other CEO/Leadership driven programs. Additionally, a primary responsibility to the role is in leading the management and execution of a series of ongoing high-profile on-site and off-site meetings for C-level executives, including quarterly Board of Directors meetings.

The role requires someone who can prioritize and manage time effectively, thrives in an ever-changing environment, has a friendly can-do attitude, pays very close attention to detail, has a hospitality lens and understands the value of tracking data and reporting on success metrics. We're not looking for someone to do things the way they've always been done, but for someone who utilizes thinking dexterity to develop creative solutions for complex problems.

Someone who is curious, innovative, and has high standards and accountability is well-suited for this position. This position reports to the SVP, Culture & Inclusion, and works closely with the SVP, Culture & Talent and the CHRO to deliver meaningful employee experiences that meet KPIs

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Culture & Talent leadership team, drive strategic planning for the annual roster of co-wide employee events that will deliver best in class events to support engagement, deliver key messages and that meet KPIs.

  • Follow industry trends in event technology and bring new approaches and tools to the team and project planning to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal business partners to understand their needs and strategize on approaches that will best meet their team's needs.

  • Develop full scale project plans from ideation to execution for hybrid, virtual and in-person meetings, events and activities that align to company strategy and deliver a compelling experience.

  • Act as a product owner and lead collaborative and cross-functional teams, including defining project goals, roles, tracking deliverables, to execute on budget, on time and with operational excellence, while maintaining a nimble approach and ability to pivot as the environment shifts.

  • Develop strategies and execute on communications to provide stakeholder awareness, gain feedback and consensus at program inception. Systematically monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders defining project progress, risks/issues and solutions and communicate status to senior management on a regular basis.

  • Craft reporting processes that will deliver data to provide key metrics, then analyze the information to provide insights and develop actionable plans that lead to best outcomes.

  • Lead the team, providing guidance and direction in the execution of in-person meetings, events, and activity logistics such as: theme and creative development, attendee and presenter communications, registration management, program format, food and beverage, facilities, and security, branding and signage, audio-visual, content creation and video production.

  • Provide the team with motivation, guidance, feedback and support to support their development and act as standard bearer for our culture of Belonging and Inclusion.

  • Develop and manage reporting on budgeting and key metrics for each project including attendee surveys, participation data, content views and more to provide information to support project outcomes, ROI and help inform future projects and ensure projects and programs align to company priorities. Learn quickly from feedback and apply an entrepreneurial mindset to nimbly iterate based on the feedback.

  • Research and identify event services suppliers/vendors and collaborate with the info sec, procurement, and finance teams to ensure proper process are followed for contracting, invoicing, and reporting and that we are producing quality experiences for attendees.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience working as a cross-functional leader and product owner of sophisticated corporate events, marketing and communications projects.

  • 8+ years of developing and presenting event proposals to executive leadership.

  • 8+ years of executing large scale corporate meetings.

  • 8+ years of experience producing data driven results. (KPI's, Metrics, Outcomes)

  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrated success in creating and executing high profile in-person and virtual meetings, events, and activities, including producing in-studio and remote shows and presentations with show flows, audio visual, scripting and content management. Earns credibility through repeated success and demonstrated humility to learn

  • Talent Management: Experience managing and motivating a distributed team, providing development support and helping guide them along their career journey. Recognizes and values contributions of individuals and teams, holding them to high standards and coaches for performance and development

  • Team Player: Desire to be part of a dynamic and creative team with an ability to succeed within in a fast-paced environment, grounded in delivering great experiences

Preferences:

  • University degree in marketing, communications, hospitality or a related discipline

  • Strong familiarity with the MS Office suite, Smartsheet, Box. Some design experience is a plus

  • Travel is expected to be roughly 25% or less

Pay Range:

$117,120-$175,680/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
