About the role:

The Vice President, Commercial Loan Operations Manager provides oversight of all Commercial Loan Operations and ensures departmental success. This position will provide oversight to ensure timely and accurate commercial loan reporting, balancing, disbursing, processing, documentation, and servicing which supports all commercial loan activity. This is a leadership role that ensures all departmental goals are met and reports directly to the C-suite.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, Implement, and update policies and procedures to optimize efficiency.

  • Manage daily operations related to Commercial Lending, new loan origination, and ongoing portfolio servicing.

  • Provide continuous communication both internally and externally to ensure consistent quality of work, including continual review and audit of functions and procedures, making suggestions for improvements and potential efficiencies.

  • Coordinate commercial loan closing processes including document preparation, communication with counsel, and collection of all regulatory information before loan origination and funding.

  • Respond to various internal and external inquiries, including examiners and vendors, answering questions, providing documentation, explaining procedures, interpreting policy, resolving discrepancies, and handling complex problems.

  • Perform a variety of special projects including but not limited to packaging loans; documentation and proofing; and preparation of recordable documents as required by loan terms.

  • Perform loan servicing including but not limited to loan setup on in-house systems, tracking, review of documentation, collection of follow-up documentation, transaction processing, error resolution, indexing, and imaging of electronic records.

  • Track and perform payment and rate changes and other ongoing maintenance and updates to commercial loans such as converting construction loans to permanent loans on schedule, loan modification, contact information updates, and annual review information.

  • Maintain expert knowledge in commercial loan quality control before origination and after commencement.

  • Conduct annual ongoing performance and development conversations with the team.

  • Assist the commercial operations team in multiple areas, as needed, to ensure departmental success.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Extensive background in people leadership and process improvement experience is required. The ability to empower the team and prioritize multiple tasks is imperative. At least 5 years of direct experience or a combination of experience and education in this role is preferred to be successful.

  • Experience and Knowledge: Experience in commercial banking with an extensive background in commercial document preparation and review is required. Strong working knowledge and experience with programs such as FIS/Horizon, Word, Excel, LaserPro, and exception-tracking systems.

  • Note: Exact title is negotiable and will be appropriate for the candidate, such as SVP or Director designation.
