JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION:
CEVA Logistics is currently hiring a Vice President Business Development. The selected candidate is accountable for directing, leading and managing business development sales efforts to identify and secure incremental revenue and market share within our ground transportation division. Achieve profitable volume growth consistent with marketing plan initiatives.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a sales organization focused solely on the growth and development of the domestic ground business in North America, closely linked with the ground product team and the field/MNC sales teams
Act as a key supporter of the field and MNC sales teams in closing domestic ground business
Own and drive the domestic ground pipeline to achieve required levels
Provide education to the field and global sales with respect to the ground product and capabilities
Drive new business growth through collaboration with the field sales and MNC sales teams
Provide leadership and direction to the Ground Transportation sales and administrative staff to identify business opportunities and generate profitable sales in both new and existing accounts that meet and exceed new business revenue goals
As a market pricing feedback owner, provide timely and accurate feedback to product teams regarding pricing provided based upon customer/market feedback
Own and drive the size, quality and accuracy of the overall pipeline for the domestic ground product
Drive revenue by service type in line with sales strategy
Execute business development plans (forecasts, budgets and operating plans), and provide leadership to the sales and marketing staff, operations, and systems delivery groups
Monitor and review customer sales activity and make strategy adjustments as needed
Build strategic relationships with key contacts within customer organizations to understand opportunities for creating value
Capitalize on value creation opportunities by working closely with the sales and operations management team to develop creative workable solutions to customer needs
Direct cross-selling opportunities to increase revenue and leverage relationships in order to better penetrate the market
Leverage the company's global reach to influence decisions on projects for customer deliveries in both domestic and international locations
Facilitate regular meetings with clients and relevant operations staff to evaluate performance and receive updates from clients on challenges and future plans
Work corroboratively with the operational staff at multiple sites and locations to ensure customers' needs and expectations are met
Work with implementation teams on new projects to ensure customer expectations are communicated
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, ISO standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values
Responsible to stay within budget on global and local sales salaries, entertainment, travel and promotions
Lead all ground transportation business development efforts, spearheading business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's overall strategy
Where specific ownership of key business or accounts is assigned, provide leadership, direction and management of required resources to support securing, developing and managing the business
Guide develop and secure incremental revenue and market share from new business and existing accounts to achieve profitable volume growth consistent with marketing plan initiatives and regional revenue goals
Direct, develop and execute a business development plan that will lead to the successful signing of new business
Oversee the development, identification and qualification of new business development opportunities through various lead sources including sales team members and relationship managers
Proven "business-to-business" sales leadership in the transportation, logistics, or supply chain management industry
Knowledge of the fundamentals of the transportation industry and familiarity with industry leaders and competitors
In-depth knowledge of ground transportation products and services
Demonstrated success in initiating sales plans, analyzing profitability of prospects, and the ability to understand the competitive influences and risks associated with individual accounts
SUMMARY OF EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field required.
Minimum fifteen years in a sales role, ideally in a fast paced dynamic organization with a transportation, logistics or supply chain company.
Candidate must have a minimum of ten years in a strong domestic / transport role ideally both in operations and sales.
Minimum ten years people leadership experience required. Ideal candidate must be very passionate about this function and really enjoy leading as this will be critical to being successful in this role.
