As the Vice President of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing and maintaining effective internal controls, and working with the CFO to provide strategic financial guidance to the management team. You will provide technical and operational leadership across accounting functions. Working with the CFO, you will develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review and analysis of companywide financials, including financials consolidations, elimination entries, JV accounting.

• Preparation of budgets and forecasts, balance sheets and cash flow statements (TM1).

• Prepare useful timely and accurate analyses, summaries and reports of financial data on operations

• Create a reporting methodology that supports a reliable cash flow projection process; manage cash to meet operational needs

• Coordinate year-end audit and prepare audited financial statements and footnotes.

• Oversee all sides of accounting operations, including billing, accounts payables, receivables, cash receipts/banking, payroll, revenue recognition, financial reporting and analysis

• Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly financial reports

• Ensure the company complies with all applicable tax laws and regulations

• Leading the preparation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, CAS and FAR financial reporting requirements/regulations, to include ASC 606.

• Oversee and assist CFO with all Treasury functions/Cash Forecasts

• Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross team processes

• Partner with the CFO to support corporate finance activities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive experience in government contracting, including a thorough understanding of various indirect rate structures and service centers, financial consolidations, elimination entries, Joint-Venture accounting

• Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field

• Five to ten years of managerial experience in related business area

LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:

• Certifications such as CPA, CFA, and CMA are preferred

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Proven work experience as a VP of Accounting or similar role

• In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters

• Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment

• Possesses critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues

• Comprehensive knowledge of the overall accounting function

• Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers

• Self reliant, good problem solver, results oriented

TRAVEL:

• Up to 25%

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance, preferred
