Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Engagement Representative in Boise, Idaho!

Position Summary:

Lead the implementation of effective volunteer programs to further the engagement of Biomedical volunteers. This includes establishing the engagement, scheduling and retention of sufficient numbers of regulated and non-regulated volunteers to meet operational needs within assigned leadership territory.

Directly supervise teams of leadership volunteers to empower a strong volunteer workforce. May serve as liaison to Humanitarian Services, Volunteer Services and other external organizations related to volunteers.

Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

Provides support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Responsibilities

1.Develop a thorough volunteer needs assessment for assigned territory. Meet with stakeholders and ensure alignment of national goals to volunteer needs.

2.Implement a comprehensive volunteer onboarding program for each volunteer position.

3.Serve as a Facilitator for all volunteer training coursework. Supervise teams of volunteer trainers and ensure all training is thorough and documented.

4.Facilitate scheduling of volunteers for assigned positions and supervise team of leaders and schedulers to ensure a strong fill rate. Interface with district management to ensure all volunteer requests are timely and complete.

5.Participate in the implementation of a volunteer engagement strategy to include frequent personal interaction with the volunteer community both personally and through the volunteer infrastructure which reports to the Representative. Participate in Volunteer Recognition through Biomedical Services which will include informal recognition and quarterly events to promote community and honor the volunteer experience.

6.Review volunteer satisfaction data and work with operational teams to develop engagement/retention strategies to improve volunteer satisfaction within territory.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Experience: A minimum of three years of related experience. Volunteer experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to implement new programs or service delivery.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including training and presentation skills. Ability to work on a team. Computer knowledge is preferred.

Travel: Ability to travel to field offices, mobile blood drives and other events.

  • Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
