Volunteer, Deanna Rose Farmstead

The City of Overland Park has volunteer opportunities at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead.

Summary: Volunteers are an integral part of operations at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. It is thanks to volunteers that the Farmstead continues to grow and runs smoothly. Please note this is an unpaid position.

Daily volunteer opportunities include:

• Greet visitors entering the Farmstead,

• Sell tickets for wagon rides ,

• Help kids fish at Grandpa Bob's Fishing Pond,

• Help children feed bottles to the baby goats,

• Sell mining rough,

• Garden

• Help with special events

• Greet birthday party guests

• Share historical information

Volunteer opportunities are not automatic. If you are selected as a volunteer, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Program Supervisor as positions become available.

Requirements:

• All volunteers must be 14 years or older.

• No experience required.

• No City residency requirement.

Must successfully pass a background check and attend a volunteer orientation.

Normal Work Hours: Volunteer shifts vary in length but are generally offered as morning or afternoon shifts. Most volunteer shifts are weekly commitments.

Please note: Organized groups, such as corporations and church groups, should contact the Volunteer Program Supervisor at 913-827-7570 to discuss volunteering availability instead of completing an application.
