Volunteer Coordinator

The City of Overland Park has a temporary Volunteer Coordinator position available in the Parks and Recreation Services Department.

Responsibilities:

Assists Volunteer Supervisor in recruiting volunteers for the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Assists with initial and on-going training and volunteer orientation. Assists with tracking of volunteer hours and other administrative duties. Assumes Volunteer Supervisor's position in his/her absence.

Requirements:

• Basic education (high school) or equivalent and minimum 18 years of age.

• Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.

• Must maintain an insurable driving record

• This is an entry-level position. No previous experience is required.

• One year of experience in clerical/office with computer use is beneficial.

No City residency requirement.

Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, physical exam and essential functions test.

Normal Work Hours: Variable Hours - PT/SEA/TMP - 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; 18-40 hours/week; Sundays required; work days to be determined by the supervisor to cover 7 day operations. The Farmstead is open from April 1 to October 31.

Salary: $15.00 Per Hour
