Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator

The Clarkston Community Health Center's mission is to provide a compassionate, welcoming medical home to underinsured individuals in and around Clarkston, Georgia, in order to unlock the inherent dignity and opportunity of those we serve. Located in an area where far too many people cannot afford medical care, CCHC is advancing an innovative, sustainable healthcare model that is meeting a clear need in our community.

Since opening our doors in 2015, CCHC has served over 6,000 refugee, immigrant and native-born individuals from dozens of countries with patient-centered, culturally competent healthcare. The Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator will serve a key function at CCHC, working to build a robust, sustainable volunteer and community engagement program to 1) significantly increase the number of volunteers that are part of our clinic, 2) formalize long-term, sustainable partnerships with important institutions in our area, and 3) engage our community through annual community needs assessment and community-wide planning activities. The VISTA member in this position will build and manage a strong volunteer recruitment, retention and acknowledgment program; recruit, train, inspire and acknowledge volunteers; build partnerships; and engage the community.

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who has a passion for bringing affordable healthcare to the community, has experience working in non-profits organizations and/or with volunteers, is a strong communicator and relationship builder, and is detailed oriented. With opportunities for trainings and coaching as well as networking, this role will give the VISTA member a strong grounding in non-profit operations, volunteer management, and community engagement. The position begins on October 1, 2023 and ends on September 30, 2024.
