Voice Biometric Field Service Technician (FST) (Job Number:439213)



  • SAIC has an opening for a Voice Biometric FST / Engineer that has Biometric analytical skills.

  • The FST/E will work as part of a team of software engineers, systems administrators, database administrators/architects, network engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SME). FST/E will provide support to Voice Identity Biometrics Exploitation Services (VIBES).

  • VIBES is a government initiative based on an accredited framework.

  • The framework permits the advanced speaker identification and data integration techniques related to voice identity to be rapidly operationalized to assess and interdict evolving threats.

  • The candidate will be responsible for developing and assisting with the coordination of all phases of education and training related to combat units in support of biometric and post- deployment training.

  • The candidate will also be responsible for formulating training plans in conformance with multiple instructional methods.

  • Candidates will use knowledge of specified training needs and be able to assess the effectiveness of such training methods as individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

  • Candidates will be required to develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference works.



  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more of related experience.

  • Masters and three (3) years or more of related experience.


  • Prior knowledge of voice biometric processes and functions and be a SME in the field of biometrics with a working knowledge of Biometric Enabled Intelligence (BEI) and Identity Operations processes including requirements for nomination, reporting and dissemination.

  • Possesses an understanding of biometric screening functions within the U.S. Government including an understanding of the agencies and systems used to house, share, and conduct biometric screening with voice.

  • A functional understanding of the various formats in which biometrics are stored and shared (EFT, EBTS, IXM).

  • Possess exceptional oral and written communications skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • The candidate should be a creative problem solver able to quickly analyze, devise, test, report and implement solutions.

  • 8570 Level II current or previous certification.

  • Recent and relevant experience with currently fielded biometric tools and equipment used by U.S. Forces.
