Role: VMWare Systems Administrator
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 6 Month Contract (extension likely)

Position Overview:
The VMware Analyst/Sys Admin provides operational and end user support for the VDI environment and participates in the development and implementation of operational procedures and standards. This position will work on Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph

Position Responsibilities:
Manage a VM Ware hosted virtual environment
Creation and management of Virtual Machines, Installing VMware tools, creating templates, cloning,
deploy Virtual Machines from Templates
Install, Configure, Implement, and Administer, Troubleshoot the VM Ware environment
Win7, Win10, Win Server 2008 R2 and Win Server 2012
Create, Manage and Troubleshoot virtual machine masters and images
Perform Snapshots, Cloning, and hot/cold migrations as necessary
Monitor the virtual environment and tune for performance as needed
Recommend and apply best practices within the environment
Root Cause and System log analysis and reporting
Familiarity with DoD network architecture and protocols is desired
Ability to work w/ little to no supervision

Bachelors degree in CS or related field
Security Plus
T3/NACLC/Secret Security Clearance
5 years of related work experience

Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen

This includes but is not limited to providing remote desktop and network support, providing on-site desktop and network support, performing on-site moves, adds, changes,auto performing desktop and network administration and monitoring (proactive), and assisting in on-site project development and implementation.<br /><br /><strong>GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>:</p><ul><li>Installs, maintains and upgrades internal computer hardware, peripherals, and software systems.</li><li>network/server/desktop issues</li><li>Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves mission critical peripheral device issues including, thermal printers, desktop laser printers, optical and barcode scanning devices, and wireless AP network devices.</li><li>Controls user access and passwords</li><li>Administration and maintenance of Active Directory and GP environment.</li><li>Plans and implements moves, adds and change requests</li><li>Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system</li><li>Monitors network and hardware usage and performance</li><li>Assists with recommending, scheduling and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs</li><li>Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products to improve business efficiency and performance</li><li>Supports Web access, electronic messaging, and maintains a secure systems environment</li><li>Partners with Managers to implement desktop and network projects</li><li>Interface with 3rd party software and service providers to support company end-users.</li><li>Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and organizational growth.</li><li>Proactively administers and monitors the networks of production environment to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.</li><li>Other related duties assigned as needed </li></ul><p><strong>EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING PREFERENCE:</strong></p><p><br />Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience as required for the specific job level<br /><br /><strong>GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Extensive experience providing end-user support both on-site and using remote management tools</li><li>Strong knowledge of implementing and utilizing remote network management and monitoring tools.
