Safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal

safety, company property, environmental and team member's safety.


Strong Communication Skills

Background in production agriculture preferred

Computer literate with proficiency in all basic programs i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Willing to work up to 50 hours per week in varied outdoor conditions

Willing and able to walk long distance on rough terrain

Able to lift 50lbs

Able to work independently and also with a team

Working around moving machinery.

VIEW JOBS 4/3/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-02T00:00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Viticulture Duties (65%): * Monitor shoot lengths * Pre-dawn and/or mid-day water potential measurements * Crop estimates, taking pictures, recording both manually and in computer * Phenological evaluations * Soil moisture probe data collection * Berry sampling * Establishment and development of Fruition Sciences "smart points" * Berry sample preparation, including count and weight * Solvent preparation and extraction for modified Harbertson-Adams assay for berries/wine * Viticulture experimentation, monitoring, and reporting * Assisting with coordinating picking as well as schedules * Conducting vineyard assessments for mapping purposes * Assist with general vineyard supervision and coordination * Laboratory Duties (35%): * Obtain samples from vineyard * Take samples of grapes, juice or wine as requested from bins, barrels, tanks, or bottles. * Complete laboratory analysis * Record analysis correctly in the computer * Alert supervisor to any abnormal results or those that might risk wine quality * Monitor equipment, calibrate, notify supervisor if out of specifications * Understand MSDS information sheets, hazardous material handling, wear PPE * Respect all safety policies and procedures; insure correct operating status of safety equipment * Weigh, measure, using scale, volumetric pipettes or flasks, graduated cylinders Supervisory Responsibilities: None Job Requirements: detail-oriented, curious, scientific perspective, open minded, good relationship and teamwork ability Education/Experience: BS Degree in Viticulture or related International equivalent; or up to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
