Role Summary

Alstom has an opening for a Vital Validation Test Engineer, in its West Melbourne, FL location. The Vital Validation Test Engineer will be responsible for the development of requirements-based and performance-based procedures and automated test scripts to ensure independent validation of product & project requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:

  • Understand and translate requirements into procedures and automated test scripts

  • Ensure documentary evidence of tests created, updated, and executed through configuration management control via change requests, CCBs (Change Control Boards), etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • 1-3 years of experience in System Testing Processes, Tools, and Automation

  • Prior test script experience with National Instruments TestStand

  • Experience with Test Processes and product domain

  • Ability to clearly identify test failures

  • Ability to creatively solve complex problems

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment

  • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees

Job Duties: Perform engineering duties in planning and designing Alstom Signaling products; design requirements-based tests to ensure validation of product requirements including designing and implementing tools, harnesses, and fixtures in hardware and software to provide the required level of technical test coverage conferring with other engineers; execute manual and automated tests, including test debugging, submitting change requests for defects, and formal recording and reports of test results; ensure documentary evidence for the portion of the test program is developed, archived under CM control, and meets certification requirements; escalate unresolved quality and safety issues to the project team and possibly safety committee; ensure compliance of the project with the defined processes governing validation testing; and establish the project schedule and ensure project execution of commitments, including identification and escalation of risks. Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation.
