Visual Merchandiser - Retail (Part-Time)

Basic Job Function:

Maintain visual merchandising standards in all retail locations, including but not limited to: inventories, sales goals, and customer service. Understand all products and merchandise that will be represented on the sales floor in several locations. Create and execute visual merchandising standards and guidelines for each location and produce a manual for distribution. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm, genuine hospitality, while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

. Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar role.

. Experience in visual merchandising, store sets, or floor moves in a luxury retail store environment, including development of visual merchandising plans.

• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.

• Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively.

• Must be detail oriented, able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes.

• Must be flexible to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed, and following company Dress Code Policy.

• Provide daily/weekly updates on visual merchandising for all retail locations.

• Manage the process of visual planning and merchandising in all retail locations.

• Maintain window displays and mannequin presentation.

• Assists in merchandise presentation, restocking, and shop recovery to maximize productivity.

• Assists and understands the process of quarterly inventories.

• Performs strategic activity on the floor, which includes coaching, guiding, restocking, and floor moves.

• Continuously check selling floor for proper merchandise presentation and general housekeeping, repairs, cleaning, and straightening of merchandise, as needed.

• Interact and provide product and merchandising education for staff in each location.

• Coordinate product knowledge presentation and all other vendor presentations.

• Coordinate with Retail Buyers to insure product fulfillment and strong visual merchandising presentation in all shops.

• Maintain an orderly stockroom with a minimum of back stock.

• Maintain excellent relationships with all vendors represented in the retail shops.

• Remain current on latest trends and styles reflective of the Sea Island style and fashion sense and merchandise the stores accordingly.

• Assist with special projects as assigned.

• Work closely with Retail Management team to provide an unparalleled and profitable retail experience commensurate with the resort and club experience.

• Work closely with buyers to maintain par level worksheets.

• Answer any questions guests may have about Sea Island or the area to the best of one's ability.

• Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing.

• Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

• Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership.

. Understand and use time management as a guide to maintain targeted sales goals in your home store, the Sea Island Shop, while performing the duties as visual merchandiser as well.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periods.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.

• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 30 pounds intermittently throughout a shift preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and fume hazards.

• No visible tattoos, visible body piercing, or unnatural hair color or hairstyles per companying grooming standards.
