Description:Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems business area is seeking a videographer/photographer to produce high-visibility multimedia work for some of our critical platforms, programs and events. The ideal candidate's primary responsibilities will be capturing events, people, and telling visual stories for a variety of digital media deliverables in support of various Lockheed Martin products and sites. Videography duties will include product documentation, events, training, interviews, videos for presentations, music videos and moderately complex storytelling projects. Pre-production duties, determination of concept, theme, and budget based on client interface. Photography assignments will include portraits, covering program milestone events, site events, award ceremonies, and other activities. Must have a detailed working knowledge of non-linear video editing equipment and working within a file-based video environment. Required to have a general knowledge of camera applications, location lighting, and related audio equipment. Experience with live webcast video camera operation a plus. Experience with either Nikon or Canon professional still photographic equipment. Experience with Sony FS7 is a plus. Applicant will be required to stay abreast of emerging trends with cameras, editing software and hardware, including lighting and grip equipment. Frequent domestic travel and occasional weekend and overtime work is required. Applicant needs to be creative, have effective communication skills (written and oral), and work efficiently with team members and customers. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US as a permanent resident. Applicant must be skilled with various kinds of professional video and DSLR cameras, including Sony, Nikon and Canon. Knowledge of still photography techniques using a variety of natural and artificial light sources. Experience with studio and location lighting and audio production. Strong understanding of shot composition for video. Strong understanding of visual storytelling. Strong understanding of video editing software and creative desktop applications. Applicant must be able to provide a portfolio and/or demo reel for review.

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced video production and editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition)

  • Advanced photography and editing (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge) skills, including knowledge of studio portrait lighting

  • Working knowledge of Nikon/Canon DSLR, Sony, GoPro

  • Experience working within a file-based photo and video environment. Knowledge of data storage devices (memory cards, hard drives, etc.). Understanding of video and audio formats and associated codecs technology.

  • Effectively interprets needs and develops creative/technical solutions.

  • Capable of balancing a project's creative requirements with schedule, budget, and resource limitations.

  • Comfortable interfacing with, and providing direction to, executives and senior leaders

  • Familiarity with setting up and running a Teleprompter

  • Consistently meets post production deadlines creating artful and impactful video.

  • Ability to take direction well and request information or ask questions when needed.

  • Passion for visual storytelling.

  • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.

  • Mac/Win knowledge and excellent troubleshooting skills on either platform.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects at one time, to work well under pressure and on short deadlines.

VIEW JOBS 1/16/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-15T00:00 15 LOCATION OF POSITION Maryland Department of the Environment Office of Communications 1800 Washington Blvd. Baltimore, MD 21230 Main Purpose of Job This position is responsible for the coordination, design and production from conception through completion, of a diverse range of internal and external visual communications including newsletters, fliers, posters, advertising inserts, events signage, presentation materials, and digital and web graphics. The majority of this position is spent overseeing video production services for MDE. The incumbent will be responsible for producing and providing promotional, educational and event-based videos to internal and external audiences, and manages the process for quality and efficiency. This position requires the employee to promote MDE in a positive way by serving as a public relations expert regarding MDE subject matter at local, regional and statewide events. This position is responsible for all activities that support the organization, structure and focus of these events; as well as, providing information and entertainment to the public. Events include statewide and local fairs, festivals, conferences, educational events and more. This position will provide project management, leadership and technical assistance on best identity management practices, report production and consistent brand maintenance for MDE officials, internal workforce and inter-agency officials. The incumbent will independently develop content with MDE Administrations and manages design, distribution and compilation of information. Employee produces corporate identity manuals, concepts and all materials in conjunction with agency goals and objectives. The incumbent will also be responsible for researching and creating appropriate and effective programs; creating and producing internal publications, and creating a monthly newsletter for employees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in communications, radio/television, advertising, journalism or graphic arts from an accredited four year college or university. Experience: Four years experience in the design and production of audio-visual presentations. Notes: 1. Possession of a master's degree in one of the above fields may be substituted for one year of the required experience. 2. Applicants may substitute additional experience as defined above on a year for year basis for the required education. 3. Applicants possessing a degree not specified above from an accredited four year college or university may substitute one additional year of experience as defined above for the required academic specialization. 4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in broadcast journalism classification or broadcast journalism specialty codes in the broadcast equipment operating field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS It is preferred that the selected candidate have experience in the following: Filming, editing and producing a professional video; Creating graphic elements and design for a brochure, fact sheet, flyer or a longer document; 'Storyboarding' a video or using other processes to lay out a story in linear form; Creating a soundproof video production studio; Writing media stories for publication online. It is also preferred that the selected candidate have the following: Environmental Degree/Coursework.
