Visual Development Specialist

Position Summary

Landscape Structures' Visualization Development team provides 3D modeling, rendering, and development support to playground, splashpad, and shade designers and sales reps both in-house and internationally. They provide quick turnaround, high quality visuals to aid in winning bids for our equipment, marketing initiatives, and to support our Design Tools in a quick pace environment. The Visual Development Specialist will provide support with pipeline and tool development, as well as research and innovation in our 3D ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in building the future of 3D Visualization at Landscape Structures.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Work directly with management to enhance VisDev capabilities, improve processes, find efficiencies, and oversee workflow and timelines.

• Collaborates with the VisDev, IT, Product Development, and Design teams along with Leadership by providing technical expertise and guidance to drive development of core LSI technology and applications.

• Proactively engage in research and development to solve challenges and elevate 3D outputs across marketing, sales, and design channels including by following industry trends and new technology.

• Assist with process and pipeline development in the following areas: 3D model standards, content library creation and maintenance, real-time visualization with both in-house and industry tools

• Provide technical development support for the 3ds Max Design Tool platform

• Advanced knowledge and technical skills in material creation, texture mapping, lighting and scene set-up

• Create photo-realistic outputs and content using 3ds Max and other rendering platforms as directed by marketing, sales, or project management.

• Navigate and troubleshoot project needs within a customer management system

• Primarily works with 3ds Max, Twinmotion, Adobe Creative Suite, and Zbrush

• Takes direction from supervisor or other team members

Qualifications

• Related Associate degree or equivalent work experience

• Associated degree and 5+ years of experience working in a 3D production environment

• Expert-level 3ds Max experience required

• Advanced scripting knowledge in MaxScript

• Knowledge in AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Sketchup a plus.

• Possess a fundamental knowledge of photography and applying these concepts to 3D rendering

• Exceptional creative and technical problem-solving skills and ability to apply innovative thinking

• Effectively communicates advanced 3D concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Advanced experience in one or more real-time rendering engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.)

• Experience in C++ and/or C# a plus

Some tool and pipeline development will be required in this role. Candidates should have experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Maxscript, Blueprint, Python, C#, C++, etc.)
