Pangea is currently looking for a full-time Visual Designer & Brand Owner to add to our team, reporting directly to the Head of Marketing & Technology.

Successful candidates will be self-driven, highly motivated, and will be able to work effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment..

Responsibilities

  • Utilize creative freedom to create visual aspects of marketing materials including presentations, brochures, flyers, direct mail, event and property signage, animated gifs, email graphics, websites and other media.
  • Ability to suggest bold ideas, thinking outside the box to design user interface layouts based upon our customer profiles.
  • Provide a visual voice, including choosing the appropriate photography, font style and other visual assets, and follow established brand guidelines with accuracy and panache across all Pangea-owned brands.
  • Social media profile collateral design (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.)
  • Understanding of basic web design, including graphic design for web, site navigation and content layouts.
  • Assemble disparate graphic elements created by other professionals, such as icons, photographs and typography into a cohesive design execution.
  • Source and manage working relationships with outside vendors (including packaging and delivery of design files for production), acting as project manager and designer.
  • Manage multiple design projects (digital and print) from concept to execution with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements

Qualifications / Minimum Skills to Apply *Must Provide Portfolio or Work Samples*:

  • BA degree in Graphic Design or related field with 2+ years of design experience. Minimum of an Associates degree in a related field may be considered.
  • Understanding of marketing, branding and promotion.
  • Conceptual thinker with a passion for typography and layout.
  • Basic photography skills a plus.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design across web, print, and email.
  • An in-depth understanding of modern graphic design principles, and best practices.
  • Ability to design in non-design software (Word, Powerpoint, MailChimp).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capacity to catch any and all mistakes while preparing files for print and web.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects.
  • Highly proficient in current version of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and some familiarity with HTML and CSS for web design.

The Visual Designer will create visual treatments, creative briefs and assets to be used in online courses, including videos and interactive activities. The Visual Designer also develops interfaces for applications and other digital tools. Responsibilities: * Owns the look and feel for online course materials including videos, interactives and graphic assets * Develop assets per the specifications given to you by the internal team and responding to feedback from internal and external stakeholders. * Responsible for providing direction to freelance graphic designers. * Work closely with instructional designers, video editors, web developers in a team environment * Develop and pitch creative concepts to design problems * Interpret technical specifications to create elements to be used in interfaces and interactive activities * Understanding of best practices in web design, including responsive web design concepts * Interpret and respond to our partners' visual style standards and branding guidelines to create style guides that govern WES' media production * Manage digital assets to minimize issues like lost or missing files, or version control issues * Present and pitch designs to the internal teams and managers and external partners * Very detail-oriented and able to work with dense content without introducing errors * Keep up to date and highly skilled on the latest creative tools and practices * Demonstrate a high level of creativity in solving complex design problems * Accurately follow time and resource requirements for projects * On a weekly basis, record time worked per project * Scope design work upon request * Allow for sufficient time for QA reviews by peers (at the draft level) before distributing a deliverable outside the department * Review other team members deliverables, when requested, in draft format providing constructive feedback * Evaluate all feedback and incorporate it in a timely manner to ensure deliverables are of the highest quality * Ensure all steps in the development process are iteratively appraised and signed off internally by internal stakeholders Qualifications: * Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position, ideally with experience working with online courses, interactive learning and video production * Bachelor's degree required; preferably in design, fine arts, or a related subject * Experience working collaboratively on multiple projects in parallel * Expert knowledge of typography, color and composition * Expert level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator * Familiarity with video editing and motion graphics (using Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects) * Experience supporting and/or driving brand requirements * Strong understanding of HTML and CSS * Ability to translate written guidelines into creative solutions * Exceptional client service skills and relationship building ability. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences. * Team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
