Astera Labs is seeking a creative Visual Designer in Santa Clara, CA, with experience in crafting visually compelling interfaces for digital products. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in graphic design, user interface (UI) design, and visual storytelling, capable of translating complex concepts into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing designs

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a new website architecture and implement new features and content, including graphic elements, navigation and page layouts.

• Document website architecture decisions based on requirements gathering from identified internal stakeholders.

• Ensure that all elements of the website tell the Astera Labs story through compelling content and design.

• Own the project from start to finish, including the delivery of content from individual content owners and product line management team.

• Own the maintenance, upkeep and updates to the website and all pages underneath.

• Own product page updates for newly launched products, and drive new content build, graphics, and iconography for new products.

• Organize multiple layers of web copy and maintain consistency in voice and tone, brand look and feel, and site architecture.

• Collaborate with all internal teams and stakeholders to ensure clean workflow of projects through discovery, design, development, final approval and delivery.

• Keep pages updated with ability to design in new CMS tools as needed.

• Partner with Product teams to understand system capabilities and translate designs from a wireframe state to fully functional and responsive experiences.

• Ensure that the website is mobile-first, and page load times are optimized.

• Maintain superb organization, storage, and asset transfers for all visual materials.

• Utilize best SEO practices to increase our site rankings in searches.

• Measure and report on website metrics including traffic, bounce rate, time spent on pages, and use these metrics to improve content, design and flow of the website.

• Graphic design skills are a huge plus. Create engaging assets for websites, email campaigns, social media graphics, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree.

• 5+ years of experience in web/mobile design.

• Proficient skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (PS/XD/Illustrator)

• Proficiency building sites and interactive experiences with rapid prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure etc.

• Experience with Figma.

• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.

• Ability to work on multiple CMS tools such as WordPress and Webflow.

• Strong understanding of typography, color, layout and website interaction.

• Pull and present best practice SEO and Google Analytics reports.

• A history of incorporating video/motion graphics into site experiences.

• Ability to quickly assimilate new information and learn new skills

• Startup experience a plus: fluid, faced-paced environment, with ability to multitask within a day.

• Be familiar with the overall best web development practices.

• Needs to be onsite in Santa Clara, CA

Own the website completely and with a high degree of passion.

The base salary range is $140,000 - $200,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
