This position serves as the agency lead in visual communications design. The position will develop a set of branding and creative direction standards for all multimedia projects and work with divisions and teams through DCF to build understanding and capacity in using those elements to create effective communication materials. The position will develop and manage a video production process, overseeing creative design, planning, capture, and editing of video work. The position will also manage production of digital materials, and work in collaboration with the forms management staff to ensure compliance for all print materials. Finally, this position will serve as the lead for the agency in the development and provision of user-design and user-interface support for all multimedia, with a focus on ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements through training and support of staff in divisions across the agency.

Minimally qualified applicants will have professional work experience in the following:

  • Video production experience (planning, capturing, editing, etc.)

  • Graphic design experience

  • Experience implementing visual style/branding

Well-qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience leading or managing video/graphic design projects

  • Experience with video graphic animation

  • Experience with user design/experience and content accessibility (CWAG/ADA compliance)

  • Experience working with Adobe software

In partnership with the USDA Forest Service Northern Research Station (NRS) in Madison, WI, MobilizeGreen seeks a Communications & Science Delivery Resource Assistant (RA) to support the scientific, professional, and technical staff in the management of research data and publishing. The RA will work closely with Communications & Science Delivery (CSD) staff and research personnel preparing datasets for the Forest Service Research Data Archive and managing references and metadata for NRS publications. The RA will receive training in data management, archiving, and publishing techniques and procedures. The RA candidate should be comfortable working with files and managing electronic data, as well as an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and a familiarity with cloud-based hosting services, such as Box, Dropbox, or Google Drive. An individual who can work independently and with interests in natural resources, research, and some programming experience is preferred. The mission of the Northern Research Station is to improve people's lives and help sustain the natural resources in the Northeast and Midwest through leading-edge science and effective information delivery. Other information management duties, based on the need of unit scientists and the selectee's areas of interest. Qualifications/Experience * Must be 18 years of age or older * US Citizen or permanent resident * Minimum Bachelor's degree/course work in biology, natural resources, statistics, or a related field. * An attention to detail, and the willingness to follow established procedures and protocols to ensure scientific integrity. * Proficiency in using common software, such as Microsoft Excel, managing files, and creating and editing text files.
