The Visual Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting the college's communications efforts through managing social media accounts, creating multimedia content, designing promotional print materials and writing content for the web.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience utilizing social media platforms for an organization.
Experience with AP style and journalistic writing.
Experience with graphic design and event promotion.
Experience with web content management systems.
Superior time management ability.
Must be able to work independently, while also knowing when to see guidance from the Communications Director or other resources.
Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to partner across teams, functions, and disciplines.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to effectively describe and present design ideas and recommendations to various contacts.
Self-motivated and adaptive.
Desire to work in a fast-paced, evolving, dynamic environment.
Familiarity with USC's Content Management System.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Detail oriented with outstanding written and communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with print and electronic communications; knowledge of video editing and production.
Job Duties
Job Duty
Collect, post, and maintain information on CIC owned social media accounts. Ensure balanced coverage of both the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and the School of Information Science to include program information, educational resources, development information, news releases, feature articles, etc. Build a social media calendar for each semester. Regularly update links and refreshes account images. Photographs college events and creates online albums.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty
Design, organize, and coordinate print and electronic communications including, but not limited to, social media graphics and videos, announcements, invitations, flyers, newsletters and holiday greetings. Write copy for social media posts and web pages.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty
Work with Communications Team to conceptualize and produce high production value collateral, such as brochures, news videos and signage, that demonstrates how CIC is meeting and exceeding the goals laid out in college's strategic plan. Submits printing requests to USC Printing Services.

Provide solutions to problems in the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the college's web services. Ensure sensitive or classified information is not inadvertently released. Supports online and web needs of other college units.
