Collect and account for fees at various locations interacting with visitors and sharing information. Serve as front-line representative to answer questions and offer guidance to guests. Likely Entry on Duty: Mar-Jul/2019

Responsibilities

  • Collect and account for fees.

  • Interact with park guests at an entrance station, visitor center, campground or other visitor contact station.

  • Visitor management such as traffic control, lost item assistance and special event set-up/take-down.

  • Stressful situations may occur on a daily basis.

Additional duties for GS-04:

  • Provide answers to recurring visitor questions, and describe the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession-operated facilities and services, and campground registration processes, explaining regulations.

  • Distribute park brochures and printed material

  • Inform visitors of potential safety hazards.

  • Receive and appropriately handle or refer complaints.

  • Follow established accountability guidelines for handling government funds.

  • Operate electronic computerized cash register, perform opening and closing shift functions,

  • Issues entrance receipts, park passes, and federal recreation passports in accordance with established guidelines, and

  • Verify entrance receipts and various passes for validity dates.

Additional duties for GS-05: includes the duties listed above as well as completing deposit reports to verify money collections, accountable stock sold, and all machine transactions from the shifts, using journal and receipt tapes and computer software.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/05/2018 (unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement).

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate that you possess either the specialized experience or the education as described below. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may also be used to qualify.

Quality Ranking Factor: Handling Money - able to handle, collect, and account for money.

In order to qualify for this position at the GS-03 level, you must possess one of the following:

A. Six months of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a Visitor Use Assistant. General experience includes greeting the public, disseminating information, providing directions and fee collection.

  • OR- B. One year of education above high school (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours). This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university.

  • OR- C. Equivalent combination of experience and education.

In order to qualify for this position at the GS-04 level, you must possess one of the following:

A. One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates my ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a Visitor Use Assistant. General experience includes greeting the public, disseminating information, providing directions and fee collection.

  • OR- B. Two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours). This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university.

  • OR- C. Equivalent combination of experience and education.

In order to qualify for this position at the GS-05 level, you must possess one of the following:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the federal service. Specialized experience demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Visitor Use Assistant. Specialized experience includes providing information or assistance to the public in a business or recreation setting; instructing groups of people or individuals; and compiling and analyzing information to report. Experience also included handling, tracking, or depositing monies; using software programs to maintain fee and stock data; resolving issues that arise in the remittance process and assisting staff with fee issues; and using tools or equipment (e.g., cash registers, calculators, etc.) to make sales transactions.

  • OR- B. Four years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

  • OR- C. Equivalent combination of experience and education.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. In order to receive credit for experience, your resume must clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the number of hours worked per week.

Credit for experience is given on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

PHC Health Models/HCV Specialist duties are to provide linkage to medical care and other needed services for patients who are HCV Antibody-positive. In addition this position must help reengage those living with HIV or AIDS who have been out of care by providing clients with education regarding the importance of HIV/Hepatitis C care and treatment. This position will also allow for enrollment and care coordination of services for both programs including Case Management, Education, Outreach, Collaboration, and Logistical Support to patients with the previously listed chronic illness. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide HCV and post-test counseling, basic HCV-related education: natural history, prevention of transmission, evaluation and treatment. * Provide education and linkage to medical treatments and other needed services. * Attend multidisciplinary team, community, general, staff, and other required meetings. * Schedule patients for intake appointments including the first on-site HCV evaluation with on-site HCV specialist (within one week), treatment meetings, and follow up appointments on-site and off-site as needed. * Must be a strong patient advocate by maintaining a relationship that fosters trust and understanding. * Work closely with clients by fostering adherence through education and interaction with medical team (e.g. weekly HCV clinics, review case load, and review data requirements). * Promote adherence by attempts to contact patients lost to follow-up * Accompany patients to on-site or off-site appointments when necessary/requested. * Adheres to office protocol (Proper clock in/Clock out, work hours, voicemail, staff meetings, etc…) * Consult with staff to address problems and/or concerns on behalf of patient. * Provide HCV education (evaluation, treatment, adherence, and side effect management). * Participate in expansion of HCV/HIV screening and education efforts at additional health partner sites and health fairs. * Organize and administer any program incentives (e.g. bus tokens, gift cards) as directed. * Collect all related data and input in a timely manner. * Complete data entry of patient information into CAREWARE, ensuring timely submission of required reporting to the Office of Public Health. * Maintain all related databases (e.g. updating data daily, ensuring data security) * Report weekly database updates/issues to team. * Attend on-site and off-site trainings as needed. * Work closely with community to develop and maintain HCV/HIV-related networks. * Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
