Position Summary
The Department of Medicine/ Division of Hematology/Oncology is seeking highly motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented applicants for a full-time Research Specialist position.
This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects. Performs complex laboratory and data collection techniques.
This role will involve assisting senior research personnel with routine daily laboratory tasks and with performing basic molecular and cell biology assays, maintaining mouse colony to harvest and process tissue samples under limited supervision.
The successful candidate will participate in highly collaborative translational research projects to study immunology and cancer biology by utilizing animal models, cell biology and molecular biology techniques, omics and computational approaches as assigned, with an opportunity to master technical proficiency and individual growth.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science or related field required.
A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
Proficient in specific lab research techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
High academic achievement and with previous research experience in a cancer biology utilizing scRNA sequencing technologies preferred.
Must have experience in handling fresh, frozen and FFPE tissue samples,
conducting experiments utilizing molecular and cell biology techniques such as RNA/DNA extractions from cells and tissues, DNA/RNA quantification, PCR, isolating cells from FFPE samples etc.
Must be familiar with scRNA sequencing and Spatial Transcriptomics workflows and protocols to be able to perform duties under minimal supervision.
Must also be experienced in mouse handling, including aseptic techniques, tissue harvesting and processing. Experience with cryosectioning and histology is a plus.
Proficiency with Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
