The Management Department of the Walker School of Business & Technology at Webster University is seeking a full-time Visiting faculty member in the area of IT Management for a two year appointment. As a full-time Faculty member, you will be required to teach eight courses (24 credit hours) per academic years (four courses per semester). As part of your responsibilities, you may also have administrative duties regarding courses and/or the ITM program. The Information Technology Management (ITM) is a graduate-level program which offers the following courses:

You are expected to provide program instruction incorporating theory and best practices, along with innovative teaching methodologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in IT management. In addition, you will be responsible for providing career advice for students, as needed. As a career advisor, you are expected to guide to students helping them to prepare for successful careers in terms of professional development and, possibly, becoming a mentor. We are interested in highly engaged individuals who have a passion for students and teaching.
Please note: This is a faculty position appointment with a 9-month contract for the academic year. The position will be in-person on our main campus at Webster Groves, MO, a suburb of St. Louis and will average 40 hours a week. The position will start in August 2024.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Prepare and deliver lectures to graduate students within the prescribed curriculum.
Stimulate class discussions and facilitate learning in the on-ground or online classroom.
Assess student performance in accordance with program and University assessment plans and practices.
Remain current in the field of IT management theories and effective teaching techniques.
Maintain a four-course teaching load each semester.
Advise students, as needed
Participate in Walker School of Business & Technology (WSBT) meetings and department faculty meetings.
Perform other duties as directed by the dean of WSBT and/or the department chair.
Support the mission of Webster University and educational learning outcomes of the program and courses.
Maintain at least four hours of in office availability for students each week.
