Job Summary
The Visiting Lecturer will hold a temporary faculty appointment and have administrative, academic and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Nursing Department and the Community College of Rhode Island. This individual will demonstrate competence in teaching and development of curriculum as well as clinical competence in the area of Medical/Surgical Nursing.
Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to providing academic support to all students.
Ensure student awareness of available resources that support learning and success within the institution.
Facilitate engagement and academic success by incorporating student advising, counseling and remediation as needed.
Instructional and Communication Skills:
Facilitate learning in the classroom , laboratory, simulation clinical.
Contribute to a dynamic teaching/learning environment requiring adaptability, creativity, and teamwork.
Accreditation; Curriculum and Program Development:
Develop, implement, evaluate, and refine the content, instructional and assessment material.
Contribute to the development and revision of the curriculum.
Participate in assuring compliance with accreditation standards established by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and the Rhode Island Department Registration and Nurse Education.
Departmental & College Support:
Participate in College activities.
Participate in Department activities, including course, committee and faculty meetings to ensure coordination of didactic instruction and clinical experience; and policy development.
Be willing to travel and teach at multi-campus locations as required by department needs.
Other duties as required
Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree in Nursing, required.
Unencumbered Active license (or eligible for licensure) as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island, required.
The equivalent of five years' full-time experience in the nursing field with emphasis on Medical/Surgical Nursing, required.
Current nursing experience within the past 5 years, required.
Current CPR for healthcare providers AHA certification, required.
