Position Summary
The Department of Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (REEES) at Bowdoin College invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible visiting lecturer position for the 2024-2025 academic year. The appointment begins July 1, 2024, and is for one year with possible renewal for a second year pending successful review and reappointment. The teaching load is five courses per year at varying levels of the curriculum, from first- and second-year Russian language courses to literature/culture offerings taught in Russian and in translation. Native or near-native fluency in Russian is expected. A PhD in Russian or a related discipline is preferred at the start of appointment; ABD considered.
