The University of Virginia's Summer and Special Academic Programs seeks applications to fill non-tenure track Lecturer positions in Summer Session 2019. Summer Session employs academic faculty who have applicable content expertise at the appropriate level and who provide evidence of recent and/or current professional experience which applies to student learning.

Subject area needs include but are not limited to: Chemistry, Economics, Education, Environmental Science, Math, Music, and Psychology.

Qualifications:
a relevant terminal degree is required. In some cases, demonstration of extraordinary qualifications may be considered in lieu of a terminal degree. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

The applicant must be prepared to teach Roman Art and Archaeology, Introduction to Classical Archaeology, an introductory survey of art history from antiquity through the 14th century, as well as courses in the applicant's area of specialization. The successful candidate will have an active research profile, be actively engaged in fieldwork, and possess the ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students at all levels. A Masters' degree in an appropriate field is required by the start date, with preference given to applicants that possess a PhD.
