Visiting Assistant Professor, Philosophy

Job Summary:

Muhlenberg College invites applications for a 2-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Philosophy for the 24-25 & 25-26 academic years, to begin in August 2024. AOS: Open.

AOC: Philosophy of Mind broadly construed. The department is particularly interested in candidates qualified to teach courses in any of the following: neuroethics, ethics of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, phenomenology, philosophies of China or India. Ability to contribute to the college's Neuroscience program in other ways or make additional interdisciplinary connections is a plus.

The teaching load is 3:3. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and working with students from all backgrounds. Philosophy ABD or PhD required.

Visiting faculty at Muhlenberg have access to a wide range of professional development resources, including but not limited to pedagogical workshops, facilitated interdisciplinary course collaborations, mentoring from the college's Center for Teaching and Learning, the opportunity to engage in research with undergraduates, access to professional development travel funds, and support for digital learning.
