Job Summary

The Theatre Department at the University of North Georgia invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre for a one-year appointment with a focus on Movement and Acting. The position¿s primary responsibilities will be to teach the Acting 1 and Acting 2 courses, Acting for Camera courses, Stage Combat, and other performance/theatre courses as necessary. There will also be potential for fight directing a mainstage production should the season and staffing allow it. Preference will be given to candidates with professional industry experience and a proven record of effective teaching in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses as assigned by department leadership (4/4).

  • Choreograph or Movement/Fight Direct and execute for season productions.

Required Qualifications

  • MFA in Theatre Arts is required.

  • PhD in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Performance/Acting/Movement or the equivalent in professional experience at the regional and national level may be considered.
