The Department of Philosophy at Oakland University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning August 15, 2024, renewable with administrative approval for up to four years. Review of candidates to begin immediately.

Area of research specialization: Open. Area of teaching competence: history of philosophy or social/political philosophy. We are also interested in candidates who are willing co-coach the Oakland University Ethics Bowl Team as part of an assigned course. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Philosophy by August 15, 2024
