Job Summary

The Department of Human Services invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Human Services for the 2023-24 academic year. Duties include didactic, experiential, and participatory instruction with a curriculum that focuses on clinical and enrichment experiences. The faculty role includes teaching undergraduate courses, academic advising, and service to the department, school, university, and community.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Human Services or a closely related field. A minimum of one year's teaching experience and three years working in the field of Human Services is preferred.

Priority will be given to applicants with previous work experience at a university, those who have a strong commitment to teaching, and those who have a degree in Human Services. Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background records check and available funding.

The Department

The Department of Human Services, which resides in the School of Education, is a clinical program that offers a bachelor's degree, a minor, and two concentrations. There are over 200 students in the program.

Students complete 360 clinical hours with community partners. The department partners with over 55 clinical programs in northeast Indiana for internship placements. Non-profit human service organizations are the second-leading employer in Allen County, Indiana.
