Job Summary

The Virtualization Administrator supports both both server virtualization and VDI clients. The server environments is used by all of the University's enterprise servers, both Linux and Windows. This administrator troubleshoots, configures and handles updates to Vcenter, Horizon View, NSX, and the Horizon View environment that supports remote, secure access to critical applications. It requires a strong understanding of system administration as well as in-depth knowledge and experience with VMware Vsphere, Horizon, NSX, Insight, Vcenter.

Essential Functions

• Configuring VMware Horizon infrastructure.

• Configuring and maintaining Log Insight.

• Troubleshoot complex problems.

• Configure VMware VSphere and Vcenter.

• Identify and plan deployment of new tools and procedures to improve the performance and reliability of the virtual environments.

• Identify, Plan and Implement Cloud based virtualization where it is cost effective and appropriate.

• Document processes, procedures, and fixes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate degree or Equivalent

• Minimum of Three to five years (multiple years of experience can replace college requirements)
