Virtual Server Systems Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtual Server Sys Admin for a position supporting a long term program with the DoD. The Sys Admin will be required to work on-site in Quantico, VA. The individual will provide comprehensive IT services ranging from network administration to security monitoring as part of a large team supporting a key network activity center.

• Must hold an active Secret clearance*

Responsibilities of the Virtual Server Sys Admin:

• Conduct daily server checks, manage alerts, confirm backups, and ensure compliance with customer specifications.

• Enforce information assurance policies, addressing compliance issues, and apply security patches based on vulnerability scans and standards from DISA and CVE.

• Utilize VMware vSphere vCenter and SCCM for management of ESXi and AHV hosts, datastore clusters, and virtual machines.

• Maintain and upgrade network and storage systems across NIPRNET and SIPRNET, and manage customer issues using the Remedy Ticketing System.

Necessary Qualifications for the Virtual Server Sys Admin:

• Active Secret clearance, at a minimum.

• 4+ years of relevant IT experience.

• Experience with VMware/virtual machines.

• Certifications: CompTIA Sec +, and VMWare Certified Administrator (VCA) or VMWare Certified Technical Associate (VCTA).

• Ability to obtain VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) within 6 months of start date.

Compensation for the Virtual Server Sys Admin :

• Salary: $80k - $110k (dependent on experience and relevant qualifications)
