Job Description

Vocovision is a TelePractice company that is partnered with school districts across the nation. We provide the software as well as clinical and technical training for all our School OT. They have the ability to create their own work schedule within the school district's schedule. Are you tired of waking up early in the morning to beat traffic? Responsibilities:

  • Providing therapy directly with students per IEPs

  • Adjusts or modifies therapy plan based on therapy data

  • Reviews plans and schedules

  • Communicates written and orally

Education: 2-3 years of previous schools experience preferred.

VIEW JOBS 12/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-29T00:00 Temporary Occupational Therapist 0.375 FTE (January 2019 - June 2019) Special Services OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION To promote the education of students with disabilities by providing screening, evaluation, intervention and consultative service and provide information to educational personnel and community agencies regarding program planning. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Observe, screen, and evaluate students with developmental delays, sensory, motor, and/or physical disabilities to determine current level of performance, determine level of service, and draft collaborative Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) goals and objectives. * Maintain a consistent schedule, document student progress, write assessment reports and three-year re-evaluation reports and attend required meetings. * Develop and implement direct, indirect, and consultative services based on individual assessment results and intervention goals. * Adhere to established rules, regulations and laws, and work cooperatively to accomplish the goals and objectives of the district. * Establish the procedures for implementing the occupational therapy and/or assistive technology program and participate in the administration, management, and maintenance of the occupational therapy program. * Provide information to develop and maintain support for the objective of occupational therapy services and establish relationships with administrators, school personnel, parents/guardians and non-school agencies to facilitate the education of students with sensory motor/physical disabilities. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Direct the activities of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. * Provide clinical internship opportunities for university students in the field of occupational therapy. * Travel to designated schools, meetings, student residences, and outside agencies as needed. * Participate in the district's comprehensive planning process for children with special needs. * Adhere to policies of the district and procedures of the Special Services Department. * Perform duties as assigned. OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: * Meet current licensure requirements for by the American Occupational Therapy Association and the State of Oregon. * Valid Driver's License required. * Valid First Aid/CPR Cards required. EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION: * Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university. * Training and/or experience with Sensory Integration therapy preferred * Prior experience with children with medical and health issues preferred * Prior experience working with children with special needs preferred. Applicants must have an Oregon Teaching license, or the ability to obtain licensure prior to start.
