Reports To: Building Principal

Qualifications

• An earned bachelor's degree in education

• A valid teaching license issued by the Kansas State Department of Education- secondary certification preferred

• Teaching experience perferred

• Middle School Math/Science experience preferred

• Verification of successful classroom teacher performance

• Valid driver's license

• Other alternatives as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Essential Job Functions

• Provide weekly lesson paced support of the curriculum to home schooled families.

• Schedule and administer District and State assessments as required.

• Plan and facilitate weekly Fun Friday activities for socialization of students and parents.

• Organize and electronically deliver monthly newsletters.

• Plan- organize- and participate in monthly field trips.

• Tutor students weekly by on-site support or home visits.

• Participate in recruitment activities in order to attract local families to the Virtual School program.

• Refer students who are not complying with course or program policies to the Building Principal for necessary interventions

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

• Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.

• Occasionally requires the ability to stoop- bend- lift and reach.

• Requires the ability to travel.

• Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.

• Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
