Enrollment Services at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Virtual Admissions Counselor. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Virtual Admissions Counselor represents Morehead State University by utilizing electronic communication tools to provide accurate and timely information to prospective students and parents.

The Virtual Admissions Counselor is responsible for the development and implementation of a virtual recruiting strategy to provide information about MSU, the academic programs, the admissions and financial aid processes, and recruitment events. The counselor will also represent the University at appropriate college fairs and events and meet with students and families as needed to provide excellent customer service. This position represents the University and encourages qualified prospective students to apply and enroll.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, 2 years of experience in related fields such as web pages, chat, multimedia, online communities, email lists, instant messaging and other emerging electronic communication technologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment required. Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.

Experience in computer applications, with the ability to generate and provide detailed reports on recruitment activities. A valid driver's license is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree preferred. Admissions, student services, public relations, marketing or related background preferred.

Organizational Relationships

The Virtual Admissions Counselor reports directly to the Director, UG Admissions, this position is a team member in The Office of Enrollment Services in the Division of Student Affairs.

Physical Requirements Working Conditions

The Virtual Admissions Counselor works with a minimum level of supervision. The position will often involve a highly stressful environment.

The person holding this position must become familiar with all aspects of the campus community and must have the ability to make independent decisions but yet know when supervisory assistance is required. Decisions may be related to more complex matters within established policy and procedures and the decisions made by this position will affect the work of others in other departments. The effects of errors in judgement can be detrimental to students, and damage the reputation of the University, especially in the area of student enrollment.
