Required Qualifications Education/Certification:
Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction or Administration and Supervision
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience (K-5) with valid teaching license
Coaching Experience:
Graduate course work in coaching/ leadership/ Behaviors
Previous experience as a building teacher leader
TWELVE MONTHS (250 DAYS), INCLUDING IN PART PAID STATE RETIREMENT & STATE MANDATED LIFE INSURANCE & IN PART FOR HEALTH INSURANCE
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:
Experience coaching on student behaviors and classroom management
Experience developing and implementing behavior plans for individual students and classes
Knowledge and training on PBIS and behavior management strategies
Experience in design, preparation, and presentation of professional development
Effective oral and written communication skills
Experience with coaching families on parenting skills
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:

The Coach will support all new VPI teachers as well as teachers identified by building level principal
The Coach will work collaboratively with the Director of Elementary, Instructional Specialists, VPI Coordinator, and New Teacher Coordinators in the support of teachers
The Coach will model, mentor, and support classroom teachers
The Coach will focus on increasing the skills of the classroom teacher to better meet the needs of Tier II students with behavioral and/or emotional needs.
The Coach will support principals and teachers in training, as well as support implementation of the essential practices of behavior management in classroom settings to ensure ensure expectations are taught, reinforced, and monitored
The Coach will conduct parent training on best practices
The Coach will support teachers to implement, with fidelity, research based intervention strategies designed to improve the behavior of students
The Coach will collect and summarize behavioral data collaboratively with teachers/staff and make recommendations about adjustments that should be made
The Coach will develop relationships and conduct home visits and meetings with parents to coach on behaviors
Performs related tasks as required.
