Violent Crimes Victim Liaison

Position Summary

Perform evaluation and assessment duties and functions in support of the Criminal Investigations Division; work as the liaison between investigations and victims to provide resources and increase engagement; identify and utilize resources to support victims of various types of domestic violence and abuse; perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, or sociology: and

Three (3) years law enforcement or victim assistance experience.

Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

• Principles and practices of victim services

• Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation

• Principles and practices of record keeping

• Methods and techniques of research and analysis

• Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
