AXA Investment Managers is offering a VIE* opportunity as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer in its Architecture Infrastructure team based in Orinda for a duration of 18 months.

Architecture team is part of the overall Axa Investment Managers technology team, and has members within Regional Data and Tech Hub in Orinda (California), London (UK) and Paris (France). The team supports all development teams with architecture, design, development and testing across all business areas (data acquisition and integration, modeling, portfolio management, trading and operations). The team is leading the Axa Investment Managers' implementation initiatives in Generative AI.

• VIE contract is a French International Internship Program, for which only EEA (European Economic Area) citizens are eligible

As a Junior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models that address our unique challenges. Working closely with our data science and engineering teams, you will contribute to projects that span financial analysis, natural language processing (NLP), and AI model development, with the opportunity to impact various aspects of our operations.

Your role and responsibilities :

• Contribute to the integration of OpenAI's APIs and other third-party AI tools into our systems

• Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and models, focusing on NLP and other AI technologies

• Stay up to date with the latest developments in machine learning, AI, and financial technologies to suggest and implement improvements

• Participate in the review and optimization of our existing machine learning models and processes

Your qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

• Proven experience in machine learning and data science, ideally within a professional or academic setting

• Strong programming skills in Python, including familiarity with ML libraries and NLP frameworks

• Experience with OpenAI APIs or similar AI platforms is highly preferred

• Experience in LLM deployment is a plus

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen interest in applying machine learning to solve diverse challenges

• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly

• Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a plus but not mandatory
