Posted 3 weeks ago

Work Location

Deseret Book Corporate Office - 5 Triad Center, 55 North 300 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Position Description

Over the past four years, Deseret Book and LDS Living have become one of the most recognizable creators of social media video content for audiences of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Chances are you've even liked or shared one of our videos at some point! Our media team is small but passionate about making a positive difference in the world and setting and achieving big goals and we're excited to have talented new people as a part of that team.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn AND practice the ins-and-outs of creating media and strategy for online content marketing to a specific audience in a mission-driven but corporate environment. As our video production intern, you'll use your creativity, communications theory, video production technique, social media marketing skills, graphic design, events/production planning, as well as professional development and industry networking to help us make media that matters. We'll help you make professional goals that match your interests and drive to succeed

In media production, no two days are the same! You'll learn how to develop and pitch short video concepts relevant to a specific audience, help crew large video shoots and be a key part of our smaller in-house shoots running camera, audio, and lights as well as directing and producing. As one of our in-house editors, you'll get on-the-ground experience with postproduction software (Adobe Premier, AfterEffects, Audition, FinalCut Pro X, Motion, and more) to professionally and quickly edit short videos for use on social media sites with direction and input from the strategy team and producers.

Additionally, you'll assist with pre-production recruitment, interviewing, and planning; manage equipment rentals, set up, and filming during in-house shoots, maintain in-house video equipment and experiment with new ways to expand value and use of equipment; and research, assess, and evaluate performance to inform future production. And the best part: Your work will be seen by and help thousands of people around the world.
