Department Overview

Adorama Used & Trade has been buying and trading for many years. When customers are ready to upgrade their systems or trade them in for cash, they send the equipment to Adorama. We evaluate the items and provide the customer with an honest and fair offer. If the customer accepts the offer, Adorama will send them a check or offer a credit toward future purchases.

Adorama Used purchases all types of used photography equipment, from old film cameras to new full frame digital & mirror-less formats, manual and autofocus lenses and an array of accessories. We also acquire an impressive amount of used video, audio and lighting equipment as well as binoculars and scopes - nothing is too big or too small.

Job Summary

A Cinema/Video Technician's function is to inspect and review all incoming used Professional video equipment. Test the functionality of item, conduct special quality control, research and identify any imperfections of the equipment and make recommendations if repairs or parts are necessary.


  • Operate and inspect equipment for functionality

  • Conduct specialized quality testing to identify any imperfections in the equipment

  • Appraise equipment based on market value and demand

  • Identify essential missing parts and send them for repair

  • Record accurately any defects that are for repair

  • Reports any issues of equipment to buyer and department manager

  • May perform additional basic duties throughout the department

  • Batch equipment for cleaning & checking

Qualifications and Skills

  • A combination of education, training and experience

  • The ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of camera/video equipment

  • Technologically savvy with a moderate knowledge of Cinema/ Video gear

  • Experience in pro-camcorders HD, and consumer video equipment

  • Video, Audio and Lighting equipment

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic math computing skills

  • Strong organizational and documentation

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

  • Aptitude for making quick & quality decisions

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines


  • Up to 40 HRS personal time off after 90 Probationary Period

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages assigned routes ensuring customers' waste is picked up in a timely and accurate manner. * Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. * Plans daily schedule based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, previous VCR, etc. provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher. * May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day ensuring enough supplies are added. * Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day. Ensures that customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations before transporting. * Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis, communicating any issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc. * Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicle on public highway. Ensures that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing. Ensures DOT Driver Log is completed, if applicable. Communicates with Stericycle Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding any change to route pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc. Ensures that employee covering for specific route is aware of any situations outside the norm in order to provide the highest level of customer service. Reports any problems/issues with accounts to Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher before the close of business each day. Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day. Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
