JOB SUMMARY

The Videographer develops and produces digital video and photographic assets to support College accessibility, and recruitment and retention objectives. The Videographer is responsible for the conceptualization, planning, production, and execution of video and photo assets for internal and external use. The Videographer collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to broaden institutional reach, to increase accessibility to quality and useful information, and to enhance the College's market position across all platforms. The Videographer is also responsible for providing support to faculty, staff, and leadership for various initiatives requiring video production or expertise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops digital video and photographic assets to communicate student, alumni, staff, and faculty stories across several communications and marketing platforms.

  • Uses video and photography skills to produce content in support of student enrollment and recruitment, fundraising, and to enhance local and national exposure of Klamath Community College and its programs.

  • Manages and executes creative storytelling conceptualization, planning, production, and implementation of video and photo assets for internal and external use.

  • Records digital action and still photography, aids in preparing presentations, and produces audio and video recordings of college events using production-quality equipment, including computer video editors, digital cameras, and video and audio duplicators.

  • Produces video, photographic, and audio assets for print, digital, and streaming platforms, and publishes content on appropriate platforms, such as YouTube and Vimeo.

  • Visually enhances materials using sound, graphics, animation, and video elements.

  • Develops timelines, schedules projects, and advises appropriate personnel regarding deadlines.

  • Produces video and photographic assets to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Manages relationships with outside agencies regarding video and photographic creative production.

  • Assists in designing internal and external publications and marketing materials.

Provides support to faculty, staff, and leadership for various initiatives requiring video and photography or expertise.

  • Collaborates with the marketing manager and webmaster to develop and implement content dissemination strategies in support of student enrollment and retention.

  • Leads students, staff, and faculty in developing creative concepts and producing content and materials for the KCC website, social media, video and online platforms, and other placements.

  • Develops creative content concepts and produces assets with and for the KCC Cabinet and Foundation, including event promotion, fundraising, and campaign launches.

  • Actively supports KCC recruitment and retention efforts in all enrollment streams.

  • Maintains a library of all pre- and post-production footage or assets based on industry best practices.

  • Maintains inventory list of audio and video equipment and coordinates with supervisor to identify and aid in the purchase and replacement of digital production equipment.

  • Collaborates with the multimedia systems manager to fulfill campus event requests that may require specialized lighting, sound, or drone footage.

  • Knowledgeable about digital media production best practices and identifies and implements new opportunities to use technology to recruit and retain students as trends and technology change.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in College shared governance councils and committees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Proficient in developing and managing comprehensive video and photographic assets that connect with multiple audiences.

  • Proficient in creating compelling written content and producing engaging visual and video marketing assets.

  • Proficient at using design programs including Adobe Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Proficient in time management, organizational, and analytical skills; pays close attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage workflows and deliverables from colleagues across the College.

  • Ability to meet deadlines independently, and to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, while proactively communicating delivery issues and/or risks before they affect project completion.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Bilingual preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift and carry digital production equipment, up to 50 pounds.

  • Must have good eye/hand coordination and be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, kneel, carry equipment, use a ladder, and balance on unstable surfaces for long periods of time.

  • Working hours are regular per the established work schedule but may involve periodic late and/or early hours depending upon services requested. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. May also work at extreme heights.

  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree required, bachelor's degree preferred, in digital media production or a related field such as communications or public relations.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in digital media production systems, including video and sound production systems, TV programming, digital editing, narrations, and photography.

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development of digital media production projects including video and sound.
