Reports to:
Senior Director, Brand and Corporate Marketing
What you will be doing
We're looking for an energetic, disciplined marketer who loves the art of storytelling via motion, and understands brand as a corporate asset.
Every day as more individuals make the switch to electric, businesses of all types install EV charging in their own parking lots to attract them. At ChargePoint we're on a mission to make this transition easy, for everyone. As the brand video specialist, you'll take lead to communicate this mission via video-creating on-brand finished assets that are clear, engaging, and compelling to businesses and consumers.
As a member of the in-house creative team, you'll field a broad range of video requests: from 10-second sizzle reels optimized for use on social, to 40-second product how-tos and 90-second customer stories for our websites. Many of these projects will rely on re-using footage from our library, so you'll become our subject matter expert on existing b-roll-able to pull and edit clips into quick-turn polished assets for promotional campaigns and events.
In some cases we'll shoot original footage. For simple projects you'll often shoot and edit footage directly into a final asset-and you're not too proud to shoot with your phone, when the situation warrants! On more complex projects, you'll work with the brand director to plan and produce footage together, sometimes with external resources.
Throughout all things video, you'll work with the brand director to create and maintain a strong ChargePoint brand. You'll field requests from in-house Marketing clients such as growth, segment, and product. You'll collaborate and consult with other in-house experts in design, web, content, and communications to make sure that video assets are consistent and coordinated with other relevant marketing materials.
What you will bring to ChargePoint
A passion for storytelling, and the ability to be objective and outcome-oriented in the edit process
A strong sense of ownership, and accountability to the team
A creative mindset and excellent problem-solving skills; consultative work style
Ability to draft an effective brief to capture and communicate what success looks like, with stakeholders
Ability to develop shooting script, evaluate, and make shot decisions based on scenes' relative value to continuity; with a focus on logical sequencing
Strong editing skills: Trim footage to create stringouts, develop rough cut, through to final cut
Post-production skills: Improve and correct lighting, coloring, and faulty footage. Input music, dialogue, graphics and effects
Requirements
Relevant degree in video production, media or equivalent
Training in multimedia and communications helpful
3-5 years proven experience in video shooting, editing, and post-production
Proficiency with editing tools and knowledge of the latest software technology (Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, Final Cut)
