Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Game Programmer to join our team! This position will support government programs by assisting with the design, development, architecture and implementation of the core engine systems behind Unreal Engine 4 based games/simulations. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.
What will you be doing?
This position will report to the Combat Capabilities Development Command - Armaments Center (CCDC-AC) Gaming and Interactive Technology Management (GITM) group. Duties include:
Assist with the design, development, architecture and implementation of the core engine systems behind Unreal Engine 4 based games/simulations
Create software systems that are scalable and modular
Create or improve tools as necessary to support specific features/systems.
Continuously test, debug, and optimize
Mentor junior developers with knowledge and experience
Participation in Integrated Product Team meetings.
What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field
3-5 years of professional software development experience with games or simulations; ideally working with the Unreal Engine
Experience developing in a large codebase; ideally experience designing and implementing from the ground up
Advanced C++ knowledge
Previous experience in developing multiplayer networked software
Excellent communication skills working on a team of artists and engineers
Software design/game design and documentation
Experience with Agile-like development processes
Experience with gameplay development programming patterns
Experience working with the Unreal 4 Game Engine
Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
