RUN Studios is seeking a Video Engineer on a project basis to oversee the technical success of productions through the installation, setup and configuration of studio and field broadcast equipment. They may also be called upon to provide limited assistance in the use of this equipment amongst internal and external staff to achieve the best possible results for our clients. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

This is for future shorter-term project needs, the start date is to be determined.

As a Video Engineer, You Will

  • Ensure functionality of studio equipment per the requirements of individual projects and may assist with modification of broadcasting equipment to achieve successful productions.

  • Utilize schematics for RUN Facilities and on-location productions.

  • Inspect or perform testing of broadcast equipment to ensure operational performance meets company standards.

  • Execute modification plans for existing broadcasting equipment to improve technical performance as instructed by the Engineer in Charge.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of studio personnel in the use of equipment.

  • Work with broadcast hosting vendors and partners for end-to-end testing and/or troubleshooting.

  • Work with Clients and Producers to customize equipment setup and/or functionality to accomplish specific production needs.

  • Work to troubleshoot and alleviate any technical issues in the studio or the field that may arise and escalates the issue to the Engineer in Charge while working to create a bypass of the affected equipment or system to ensure production completion with the highest priority being minimal impact to the delivery of the production.

  • Exercise problem solving skills and coordinates efforts to eliminate or get around issues in order to achieve successful productions.

  • Occasionally provide support 'out of hours' or to attend meetings of other events considered to be important to efficiently perform required duties. E.g. Customer / supplier meetings, Trade Shows etc.

  • Perform other related duties as needed.

As an Applicant, You Bring

  • 5+ Years of Broadcast experience in a directly related environment

  • Advanced knowledge of broadcast system configurations.

  • Knowledge of production show-flows with ability to advise on technical issues.

  • Strong self-management skills. Must be organized and detail oriented. Ability to take direction and work under deadline pressure.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across teams and with management.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

Compensation

Pay Range: between $600 - $800 (Day Rates for 10 hours)

The successful candidate's pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
