Responsibilities

The Video Editor position is responsible for the execution of all post -production duties pertaining to the creation of video and motion graphic assets for innovative and engaging online courses. Working with the Video Producer, the Video Editor will develop an edit and delivery schedule and an editing budget, communicating any issues that may jeopardize those objectives being met. The Video Editor should also contribute his/her creative treatment design for edits look and style, collaborating with other stakeholders while doing so. The Video Editor is also expected to research new and state of the art editing software, and manage the storage and cataloguing for his/her projects.

Additional responsibilities

  • Lead and successfully execute the editing of innovative, high-quality and engaging videos and other graphic assets included in online courses and supporting collateral.

  • Schedule and manage edit schedule. Adhere to edit schedule and budget.

  • Provide at multiple rounds of edits (rough/fine cuts) for review by both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Adheres and operates within a set style guide and project specification.

  • Catalogues and maintains any media assets (video, stock footage, motion graphics) used for specific project

  • Works with various internal stakeholders including Video Producer, Learning Designer and other Media Team Specialists to identify opportunities for new and technically forward -looking visual treatments. Report project status on all assigned projects to the Video Producer

  • Continually looks to incorporate new and industry leading editing software, tools and creative applications to further improve upon the types of videos that are created and delivered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Production, with specialization in editing or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 2 -3 years experience editing, for broadcast, online and/or other media platforms. Effective visual storyteller working across varied genres (Corporate, Narrative, Documentary)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and flexible

  • Experience with different editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Affects, Final Cut Pro, and common motion graphics design tools like Premiere , Adobe After Effects.

  • Competency with various video storage and review systems - i.e. Dropbox, Frame, Kaltura, Vimeo and file compression software, video streaming and distribution.
