Vice President/Group Director - Media

Right now we're looking for a rock star VP/Group Dir of Media who's an expert in pioneering media solutions, takes ownership for leadership within the Media group and acts on a sense of creative collaboration. Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Lead a cross-functional team responsible for top to bottom strategic upper-funnel media plans

  • Drive innovative marketing programs, working across multiple client stakeholders

  • Steward for all activity, with ability to go deep on the work while also seeing across the account to proactively anticipate changes and needs.

  • Stay on top of category and industry trends, bringing POVs to clients in the moment

  • Maintain flawless execution and streamlined operations of the account

  • Establish long-term trust with clients

  • Maintain senior level relationship with all stakeholders- agency, client, and publishers

  • Represent the agency within industry organizations

  • Support training, development, mentorship of team, driving culture from the top

To qualify, you'll need:

  • Four year degree (Master's degree preferred)

  • 10+ years of Advertising and Marketing industry experience

  • Entertainment category experience (tune-in preferred)

  • 5 years of staff management and team leadership

  • Thorough knowledge and expertise in omnichannel Media strategy

  • Expertise digital and deep understanding of converging channels, programmatic and holistic video strategies

  • Proven leadership ability, interacting with C-suite internally and externally and outstanding client relationship experience, advocate to senior and C-suite clients

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills- able to voice POV in the moment as well in more formal settings

  • Time management, problem solving skills and a critical thinker

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MRI

  • Track record of successful problem-solving skills

  • Superior interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Skilled collaborator with a win-win mentality

  • Client is local, but candidate must be open to some travel on an as needed basis

  • Curiosity and passion for understanding the "why" underneath the surface

  • Growth mindset, future-forward, ready to invent what's next for the client and agency

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Awards: * Compile, organize, and break down all show credits for awards entry prep. * Assist in the production of HBO's annual Emmy campaign – assist with credit confirmations, copy editing, proofing, photo compilation, recordkeeping of show selections for Emmy entry, etc. * Assist in the maintenance of HBO's awards site and awards streaming apps – assist with metadata, digital assets, etc. * Maintain HBO's awards database and calendar - tracking all programming and awards competition data. * Work with the HBO awards department as needed in crunch time as entries are being generated * Work cooperatively with HBO studio on delivery and encoding of entry materials. * Assist with Awards ceremony rsvp's for nominated HBO talent and other guests of HBO, as well as track outside attendance requests. Events: * Work at all HBO premieres and HBO-hosted awards events – involves evening hours and some weekends. * Assist with creating/sizing/delivering event and awards related graphics and photos. * Assist with event tasks, such as sending invitations and collecting/tracking rsvp's as needed. Trade Advertising: * Collect, read and critics reviews of all HBO programming; assist with pulling critics quotes for awards campaign use. * Copy edit/proof trade ads. Department Invoices: * Process all events, awards and trade advertising-related invoices, as well as general department bills. * Enter all bills/invoices/purchase orders in our computer, code, copy, log and file each invoice in our books, have all invoices signed by our department head and forward bills to the appropriate person in NYC. * Enter all event, awards and trade advertising specific budgets and expenses into the finance budget tracking system. * Liaise with vendors and problem solve with vendors seeking payment. * Maintain an archive of all invoices. Administrative Tasks: * Provide clerical support to the Senior Vice President: answering phones, copying, filing, travel, expense reports, etc. * Provide phone backup support for the entire department; this is a team effort with all department assistants. REQUIREMENTS * Seeking candidate with at least one year's experience with an entertainment company. * Seeking candidate with design experience – with demonstrated visual communication skills, graphic sensibility, and a strong eye for graphics and design. * Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task. The nature of this work requires an extraordinarily high level degree of accuracy and follow through. * Must be proficient in Photoshop, FilemakerPro, and all Microsoft Office applications. * Must have strong phone skills, good judgement, ability to juggle several unrelated tasks simultaneously without error * Must excel at time-management and be able to multi-task – keeping abreast of all three areas simultaneously. * Position requires initiative, problem-solving and follow through.
