What You'll Do

Enable leaders to hire the best - power our growth by implementing recruiting strategies that allow leaders to hire exceptional people at all levels of the organization.

Drive recruiting excellence by providing regular, accurate updates to stakeholders- including requisition activity v. budget, key hiring metrics and candidate activity.

Build out executive hiring model - enable your team and leaders to continuously build our talent pipeline and hire at the Director level and above.

Develop an internal mobility program - leaders are internal talent scouts and employees feel AppFolio is a place they can learn and grow their careers.

Develop and grow your team- you have a keen eye for talent and have a track record of developing people and elevating a team.

Establish and maintain AppFolio as an "Employer of Choice" - be a promoter of our employer and leadership brand in partnership with Marketing.

Develop strategies to enhance the candidate experience - Develop and manage strategies to create a positive candidate experience at all touchpoints with the company as measured by candidate NPS improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and adjust recruiting strategy, as needed to respond to movements in the market and business.

  • Customer Orientation: Elevates the hiring manager and candidate experience in all decision making, processes and programs.

  • Business acumen: Understands how businesses and each department within the company works. Is quick to understand and deal with a "business situation" (risks and opportunities) in a way that is likely to lead to a good outcome.

  • Coaching/developing/mentoring: Encourages and empowers a performance-driven culture of high standards in a team of disciplined, highly motivated and enthusiastic employees.

  • Process management/Analytical

    Ability to refine and navigate hiring processes with high data integrity and a metrics-driven approach. Evaluates and recommends new tools/technology changes as necessary.
  • Consulting/Influencing skills: Highly curious and ability to "nudge" department heads without pressure or rules, proactively drives the hiring process forward.


  • 7+ years in a Talent Acquisition leadership role, leading a team of 5+ people.

  • Experience recruiting in a high tech or SAAS company is preferred.

  • 15+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years in talent acquisition; a combination of experience within a tech company, as well as search firm is preferred.

  • Track record of regular interaction with senior-level executives and driving company-wide recruiting initiatives.

  • Strong relationship builder, who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment.

  • BA/BS degree required.
