Your Team & Role

As a Vice President, Solution Architecture Engineer in Retirement Strategies you will partner with chief product owners, technical leads, release train engineers, and senior business and technology leadership to improve Retirement Strategies' core technologies and business capabilities. You will be a hands-on leader in our efforts to become a more modern, cloud-based, API and domain-driven architecture firm that brings these technology capabilities to solve real-world business problems in a business that's poised for growth based on technology competitiveness. You will also be the key leader who is responsible for mitigating a legacy technology landscape to these new systems. As a technical expert, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership style and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • End-to-end technical leadership for Retirement Strategies Individual Product Platform in driving strategic growth, experience, and talent outcomes concurrently with advancing overall architecture for agility and sustainability; remove highly complex technical impediments and align the roadmap

  • Drive team empowerment, commitment and engagement leveraging lean-agile principles to increase team capabilities, autonomy, and velocity in the continuous delivery of in-market value

  • Drive solution architecture and design for Retirement Strategies Individual Product Platform roadmap across multiple agile release trains to achieve a complete, flexible, and sustainable capabilities in alignment with architectural principles and patterns

  • Collaborate with chief product owners, release train engineer and enterprise architecture to develop platform vision and roadmap. Define and prioritize enablers that explore alternatives and build the architectural runway that anticipates future needs and enables innovation, flexibility, and speed

  • Bring an expert understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, provide technical guidance and leadership to team members and role-model our continuous learning culture by embedding learning and innovation in the day-to-day

  • Work on critical applications, maintain a broad knowledge of innovative principles and theory

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields

  • Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)

  • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business

  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges

  • Excellent executive presence with an ability to translate and communicate sophisticated technical solutions in understandable terms to a broad range of audiences

  • Excellent problem solving and collaboration skills

  • Significant experience and/or deep expertise with the following:

o Domain Driven architectures

o API development and management

o Cloud engineering and automation

o DevSecOps

o Applications development

  • Preferred qualifications:

o Prior architecture or development experience with Salesforce

o UI/ UX knowledge and skills

o Customer journey mapping

o Financial/Insurance industry experience is a plus, not a must

The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
