The Vice President of Self-Administered Products & Services will have general management responsibility for all products and services across McKesson Specialty Health which supports community provider practices in dispensing self-administered therapies to their patients. He/she will work closely with the senior management teams across McKesson Specialty Health in support of the Provider Solutions, The US Oncology Network and Payer Solutions to ensure that those segments are continuing to grow and strengthen their pharmacy channels and that MSH is continuing to grow its self-administered distribution revenue to clinics. He/she is responsible for ensuring our legal, regulatory and payor strategies continue to allow our clinics to thrive in an ever-changing complex landscape. The Vice President will also serve as a thought-leader for the organization on the topics of retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy and managed care pharmacy.

This leader is responsible for managing a team accountable for business, payer and customer strategies, account management, revenue optimization and developing emerging markets. Additionally, he/she will be accountable for identifying and cultivating one McKesson opportunities in support of our customers. The Vice President is expected to collaborate with multiple internal groups which contribute to this business (Onmark operations and sales, US Oncology operations, GPO, Technology, buy-side) and will also work across McKesson Business Units (McKesson Pharmacy Systems, Health Mart Atlas, RelayHealth).

Specifically, this role will have approximately P&L responsibility over the following programs:

  • In-Office Dispensing (IOD) across the Open Market, The US Oncology Network, and multi-specialty segments that includes directly managing implementation and operations teams, and liaising with internal support teams responsible for sales, procurement, pricing, GPO, finance and technology

  • Pharmacy Optimization program, comprised of tools, analytics and field-based pharmacists supporting our customers in improving their pharmacy operations and drive incremental distribution revenue to MSH

  • Managed Care Pharmacy Support focused on developing and leading a managed care services team which will provide thought-leadership and guidance to facilitate the development of a strategy to support our IOD pharmacies in collaborating with payers to increase the volume of oral oncolytic therapies dispensed through the IOD site-of-care. This shall include practice support related to credentialing and payer audits.

  • Pharmacy Systems Support which will support our customers with the daily use of their pharmacy technology, as well as lead efforts to customize the technology to better serve oncology patients

Position Description

  • Leads strategy for self-administered programs across McKesson Specialty Healthy and provides thought leadership to the organization around retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy and managed care pharmacy

  • Leads P&L, account retention, and operations management of our In-Office Dispensing (IOD) program across Onmark, multi-specialty, The US Oncology Network and emerging markets to ensure growth and profitable service line

  • Owns pharmacy optimization targets to meet P&L requirements

  • Develops and manages managed care team that creates a strong value proposition around MSH's IOD model to enable our practices to become the preferred pharmacy vendor to payers for oral oncology and multi-specialty therapies

  • Lead pharmacy systems support team, accountable for supporting our practices during implementations and daily operations, as well as lead technology development. Ensure pricing and customer support is industry-leading.

Minimum Requirements
15+ years of professional experience and 10+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills

Critical Skills

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience with a proven track record of successful leadership in the healthcare field

  • Operational leadership experience

  • Direct experience with provider customers and customer teams providing services and solutions to meet these customer needs

  • Experience managing profit & loss

  • Basic level of oncology knowledge and familiarity with the oral oncolytic market and emerging trends

  • Specific knowledge of provider operations and how diagnostic services should be addressed

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate into operating programs

  • Confidence and communication maturity

  • Strong business and financial acumen, and in depth critical thinking leading to sound business decisions

  • Strong influencing skills and comfortable in a consensus building environment

  • Experience in retail pharmacy or in-office dispensing operations and workflow processes

  • A demonstrated track record of improving operational efficiencies.

  • Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment

Education

MBA preferred in Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience

Doctorate of Pharmacy or MBA (preferred)
