The company is seeking a new Vice President of R&D to own the newly formed Analysis group within the Digital Design Creation (DDC) platform. The role has global R&D responsibility and leads engineering. The Vice President will lead a distributed team of ~80 employees in the US, Germany, Armenia, India, and Egypt and work with the General Manager of the DDC platform, Siemens EDA.

The role may be based at Siemens' offices in Wilsonville, OR (Portland Area) or Fremont, CA (Bay Area).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a driven digital extraction strategy for the DDC business and product portfolio, including place and route and static timing analysis.

  • Develop and implement Multiphysics analysis capabilities for multi-die design closure.

  • Lead the Analysis R&D organization, including RTL/gate-level power analysis and digital and analog power-integrity analysis, to meet ambitious financial growth targets.

  • Lead Analysis of product development and innovation. Serve as the primary executive contact representing the product line with customer executives.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent. Develop and cultivate a reputation for delivery, innovation, and excellence with internal and external partners.

Key Attributes: The ideal candidate will have:

  • Business leadership experience in the electronics or semiconductor industry, including experience leading a software product line.

  • A detailed understanding of semiconductor development processes and related technology tools.

  • A track record of distinctive growth leadership in developing market segments, and

  • Executive presence and interpersonal skills consistent with an industry encouraging leader.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, from an accredited institution.

  • 20+ years of professional experience in the electronics and/or semiconductor industries

  • 5+ years of shown experience in R&D leadership roles.

  • Experience developing commercial and innovation strategies in a sophisticated, global environment.

  • Experience with developing formal product innovation processes and roadmaps; able to use consumer insights and data analytics to support decisions.

  • An inspirational people leader with the ability to recruit, develop, and retain a successful team.

  • Experience as an industry encouraging leader, including participation in industry forums, panels, and speaking engagements, and active in relevant industry associations.

  • Able to influence others through both direct and indirect networks; a consensus builder and change agent.

  • A flexible, multidimensional, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to empower themselves and others; a natural bias for action.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

  • Experience in EDA or similar software technology, with detailed experience in extraction, power analysis, power integrity, thermal, and foundry certification of such engines.

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person's status or obtaining any necessary export license.

Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday

The salary range for this position is $197,700 to $355,900 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. If you live in the Bay Area the salary range for this position is $234,500 to $375,200. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training. In addition, this position is eligible for time off in accordance with Company policies, including paid sick leave, paid parental leave, PTO (for non-exempt employees) or non-accrued flexible vacation (for exempt employees).
